Creating an IntelliProperty definition

IntelliProperties are required string data type properties that are associated with folder definitions. What makes IntelliProperties intelligent is that their values can be inherited from the parent folder.

Note    Inherited property values are supported only for FileNet Panagon and is not supported by FileNet Content Services libraries.

Note    You many not use both properties defined on the Properties tab and IntelliProperties. If you create any folder properties on the Properties tab, no IntelliProperties may be used. For more information on creating property definitions, see Creating a property definition.

To create an IntelliProperty:

1. In the Manage Structure Designer, on the Folders page, select the folder definition for which you want to create an IntelliProperty and click the Edit Properties tool button if it is not already activated. To create a new folder definition, see Creating a folder definition.
2. For the IntelliProperties option, click the button to display the Collection Editor to define the IntelliProperty. The Collection Editor opens, listing the existing IntelliProperties, if any.
3. Click Add to create a new IntelliProperty. A new IntelliProperty is added to the Members list.
4. Select the new IntelliProperty. Its properties appear in the Properties list.
5. Enter or select options using the descriptions in the following table.

6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for each IntelliProperty that you want to create for the selected folder definition.
7. To delete an existing IntelliProperty, select the IntelliProperty in the Members list and click the Remove button.
8. Click OK to close the Collection Editor.
9. Click the Save tool button to save your changes.
